Temporary parental benefit (VAB) or parental leave - what applies when the preschool has a planning day
If your child’s preschool or school is closed due to a planning day, you can take out parental benefit if you need to refrain from work to take care of your child. However, you cannot take benefit for care of a sick child (VAB) because the school or preschool is closed.
You can register whenever you want but no later than the same day for which you want compensation.
Did you know that your common-law partner can be on parental leave with a bonus child?
If you are unable to take time off from work, you can transfer one or more of your parental allowance days to your common-law partner.
