General

LEFI stands for the Swedish LEverera FörmånsInformation, which means Deliver Benefit Information.

Contents

The LEFI Online service is used to respond to received queries with personal and benefit information on the requested person. For more detailed information about the content, refer to the document “Description of personal and benefit/allowance information”.

User interfaces

The user sends a query to the system, which retrieves, compiles and in come cases processes benefit information from Försäkringskassan's various benefit systems before disclosing the information to the user.

The service can be used via two different interfaces – a web interface and a system-to-system interface.

LEFI Online – Web interface

LEFI Online's web interface is a graphical interface for sending a query containing:

  • Personal identity number
  • choice of benefits
  • start and end dates

LEFI Online retrieves personal and benefit information from the start date through the end date, and for the benefits specified for the person. The results are shown on the page within a few seconds.

General information about the web interface

• The web interface login can be accessed via the Authorities and partners tab or the E-services page of the Försäkringskassan website.

Log in to LEFI Online web interface

• The interface is primarily intended for individual queries, and as a complement to the system-to-system interface and LEFI Subscription. This interface is used by recipients with a small number of queries per day.

• The web browsers that can be used must meet the requirements specified on Försäkringskassan's website and the requirements set by the e-identification issuer.

• Login with e-identification (BankID or e-identification issued by Telia or Nordea) is required to access the web interface.

• To use the LEFI Online web interface, users must be registered in Försäkringskassan's access rights system.

The web interface consists mainly of two screens:

  1. Retrieve benefit information
  2. Show benefit information

LEFI Online system-to-system interface

Electronic disclosure of data via the system-to-system interface is based on the recipient themselves (or through an agreement with a third-party provider) ensuring that there is functionality for making queries in their own operating systems.

Specific personal and benefit information can be displayed about the person being queried via an electronic query/response service (online).

  • The recipient sends a query file containing data on personal identity number, benefits, start date and end date.
  • LEFI Online retrieves personal and benefit information from the start date through the end date, and for the benefits the recipient specified for the person. The data is compiled and provided in the form of an XML file within a few seconds.

Who can use the service?

The target group is external partners, particularly insurance companies/insurance agents, municipalities (mainly social welfare boards) and government authorities. In order to use the service, you must be legally authorised to access the data in question.

Technical information

Versions

LEFI system-system is available in two versions. The web interface always has the latest version implemented.

Information and files for current and previous versions are found under the section Technical documentation and the heading Versions.

The Release information page always presents information on version changes.
Among other things, information on upcoming versions is published there.

Version management

Formal version management of LEFI Online system-to-system was implemented on 1 October 2015 through updating of the applicable SLA with this information. However, two versions are available as of 24 May.

Version management will
entail the following:

  • Change management for the service is planned through 1-2 releases per year
  • The version management supports 2 versions (current + previous version)
  • The older version is supported for 1 year (end-of-life)

This means that when a new version (ver.2) of the service is released, the previous version (ver.1) is supported up to 1 year from the release date. This applies provided that another new version (ver.3) is not released during this period. In such cases, support for the first version (ver.1) will end on the date the latest version is released.

For users, this means that the current or previous version
must be supported in order for the service to work.

The purpose of this version management is to ensure effective information supply that enables:

  • Controlled change management
  • Reasonable time for users to adapt to new versions

Reduced risk of users using older versions, which would put them at risk of missing added/modified information
