The Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan)
Försäkringskassan’s role is to administer social insurance and to ensure that you get the benefits and allowances you are entitled to.
The Swedish social insurance covers everyone that lives or works in Sweden. It provides financial protection for families and children, for persons with a disability and in connection with work injury, illness and old age.
Through the Swedish membership in the European Union, you may also be eligible for social insurance benefits in other EU member states if you or anyone in your family resides or works in any other EU member states.

Our administrative officers at the Customer Centre can answer general questions, give information about your application and assist you in completing forms. They can give you information about our self-service facilities and you can also book an appointment for a face-to-face meeting.
We aim to answer your call within five minutes. The lines are usually very busy at the beginning of the week and it can take longer to get through then. If we need to gather more information in order to answer your questions we will get back to you within two working days.
The Customer Centre’s opening hours:
Monday – Friday 8am-9pm
If you have a text telephone and want to order communication in English, please call 90 160.
If you send an e-mail, we will answer within two working days. It may take longer if we need to investigate your questions first.
Letters sent to us by post will be answered within ten working days.
